Johan Budi Calls 'Colonel Council' Not Manuver Ahead Of The 2024 Presidential Election, Only The PDIP Supporting Cadre Initiative Puan Maharani

JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the DPR from the PDIP faction, Johan Budi, has spoken about the formation of the Kolenel Council. According to him, the Council of Colonels has nothing to do with the PDIP party or a form of maneuver before the 2024 presidential election. "No, this has nothing to do with PDIP. We are not maneuvering," said Johan in Jakarta, Wednesday, September 21. Johan added that the Kolenel Council was an initiative of the party cadre created by Megawati Soekarnoputri in supporting Puan Maharani. They will move after Megawati's official order. "Can it be cadres, who can forbid cadres from supporting Mbak Puan. Can it! But we're not going through what Mrs. Mega decides. We'll wait," he explained. Whatever the party's decision regarding the candidates carried in the 2024 presidential election contest will be fully supported. In other words, continued Johan, the Kolenel Council is only a preparation if Megawati appoints Puan as a presidential candidate in 2024. "Of course all of them say that whatever Mrs. Mega's decision will be, we will be upright. That's right! This board of colonels prepares if Mrs. Mega appoints Mrs. Puan as a presidential candidate in 2024," said Johan. Member of the House of Representatives and Coordinator of the Council of Colonels, Trimedya Panjaitan, revealed that the Council of Colonels proposed by Johan Budi consisted of 12 members and two generals. "I am the coordinator, which was proposed by Mr. Johan Budi," said Trimedya at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Tuesday, September 20. Trimedya explained, there is no official organizational structure from the Council of Colonels. But now in Senayan, Puan Maharani is escorted by two generals, namely Utut Adianto, who is the chairman of the PDIP faction of the DPR. Also, Secretary of the PDIP Faction Bambang Wuryanto alias Bambang Pacul. Meanwhile, in each commission there is one person who is appointed to 'earn' Puan Maharani's name. The eleven Board of Colonels is tasked with socializing Puan Maharani both in the Commission in the DPR, as well as in their respective electoral districts (dapil).
