Visiting a friend's boarding house, a woman in Bali steals tens of millions of jewelry

BADUNG - A woman with the initials WRY (25) was arrested by a team of North Kuta Police, Badung Regency, Bali, for stealing tens of millions of jewelry. The perpetrator stole from her friend's boarding house.

The perpetrator stole jewelry belonging to a friend named Made Ariadi at a boarding house in the Dalung Permai area, North Kuta.

"The modus operandi is to come to visit pretending to ask for the price of the cupboard while opening the cupboard door (the victim)", said North Kuta Police Chief Commissioner Putu Diah Kurniawandari, Tuesday, September 13.

The missing jewelry is 2 gold bracelets, 1 gold anklet, 2 gold rings, one pair of gold earrings, and one gold pendant. The total loss for the victims is around IDR 17 million.

The victim then reported to the North Kuta Police about this theft. The perpetrator was arrested.

"Furthermore, the perpetrator showed the place to pawn the goods that the perpetrator had stolen and finally the perpetrator and the evidence were secured to the North Kuta Police for further questioning", she said.
