Machine Explosions Cause Fire At The Cakung Area Bottle Factory

JAKARTA - A burning room on the 3rd floor of a bottle factory located on Jalan Bekasi Raya KM 24.5, Ujung Menteng, Cakung District, East Jakarta, caught fire on Monday, September 12, evening.

The fire broke out after an explosion occurred in one of the combustion engines. Although the fire broke out quite large, there were no casualties or injuries as a result of the incident.

"The object caught fire in the production area for had JD2 at PT Kangar Milikidated Industry (PT KCI) on Jalan Bekasi Raya, Ujung Menteng Village," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman, Tuesday, September 13.

The fire was extinguished an hour later with a watering of 10 fire engines. Officers who arrived at the location immediately struggled with fire.

Losses due to fires are estimated at billions of rupiah.

"The factory is known to belong to PT KCI. The area of the object that burned is 120 m2. The process of extinguishing the fire was completed at 19.41 WIB," he said.

Until now, the fire is still under investigation by the Cakung Police.
