JABAR - Deputy Governor (Wagub) of West Java (Jabar) Uu Ruzhanul Ulum invited residents to continue to obey the central government's decision regarding the adjustment of fuel oil tariffs (BBM).

"Rest assured the government's decision for the benefit of the nation and state. Government policies and wisdom are prioritized for the benefit of the people, the good of the nation and state and even religion," Deputy Governor Uu said in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Monday, September 12.

Deputy Governor Uu admitted that he understood the public's concerns due to the increase in fuel prices, but he also asked residents to continue to comply with the fuel price adjustment policy.

The government has officially transferred the fuel subsidy, causing adjustments to the prices of Solar and Pertalite. This fuel price adjustment was announced directly by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) through a press conference on Saturday, September 3.

The government also diverted the fuel subsidy for Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) to be more targeted and prepare other assistance. According to Deputy Governor Uu, although the policy is considered bitter by the community, it must still be understood because there is a greater interest in the integrity of this nation and state. "Obviously the integrity of the nation and the country is our shared responsibility, not the responsibility of the government," said Uu. "Therefore, the increase in fuel is one of the decisions that are considered the best in dealing with situations and conditions like today," he continued.

He said the adjustment to fuel prices is one of the State Budget instruments to stabilize the country's scale. Uu also emphasized that the most important thing right now is the continuity of national and national development, so it should not be neglected and should not be stopped. "We believe that there will be other benefits from every policy, the most important thing in my opinion is the fulfillment of the basic needs of society in everyday life.
