Thanks To The 'Adu Bako' Tradition, North Halmahera Residents Voluntary Firearms To The Yonarhanud Task Force

MALUT - A number of residents in North Halmahera Regency consciously handed over various homemade firearms voluntarily to the Yonarhanud 3/YBY Task Force (Satgas).

The Commander of the Yonarhanud 3/YBY Task Force, Major Arh Achmad Yani, said that the handover of the Gosoma residents' weapons was the result of the program to sit down and talk together or fight over piles built by personnel with the community.

The weapons handed over were long-barreled homemade and 3 rounds of 5.56 mm caliber ammunition on Sunday 11 September.

The weapon was received by Provost Praka Puguh Wisutomo's picket and then reported to Pasi Intel of the Yonarhanud 3/YBY Task Force. After that, news of the handover and receipt of firearms was made.

"Our members always provide understanding to the local community, so that they can consciously hand over firearms, both homemade and standard TNI/Polri firearms, which are still stored by some residents, because according to the law there is no right to store them," he said in Ternate, North Maluku Province (Malut), quoted from Antara, Monday 12 September.

He said awareness of the laws of the people of North Maluku, especially in North Halmahera, was increasing.

Previously, the North Maluku Kodim Task Force, Yonif Raider Khusus 732/Banau, carried out Operations of the Task Force in the North Maluku region and managed to obtain an organic standard weapon and three rounds of ammunition from the people of North Galela, North Halmahera.

He said his staff again obtained an organic standard weapon from Laras Panjang SMB and three rounds of ammunition. The weapon was handed over by one of the residents to Lt. Cba La Marlin, a member of the Kotis Dim Tobelo Pos, North Maluku Kodim Task Force, Yonif Raider Special, 732/Banau.

In fact, the acquisition of this weapon is one of the factors in the success of the territorial development of the North Maluku Kodim Task Force, Yonif Raider Khusus 732/Banau, to people in the North Maluku region.
