NTT - The Central Lombok Regency Government proposes to allocate IDR 5 billion in the Revised Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) in 2022. The funds are for additional social assistance (bansos) to residents to reduce the impact of rising oil fuel prices (BBM).

"(The allocation of funds) of IDR 5 billion for additional direct cash assistance has been proposed to the Central Lombok DPRD and is currently being discussed," said Central Lombok Regency Regional Secretary Lalu Firman Wijaya in Praya, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Monday 12 September.

The funds, according to him, are planned to be used to provide cash assistance to around 6,500 beneficiaries, including underprivileged residents and fishermen, as well as carry out labor-intensive activities and market operations.

"This additional social assistance budget is given to residents who have not received other social assistance. If they can, they cannot get double assistance," he said, quoted by Antara.

Previously, the Central Lombok Regency Government stated that more than Rp9 billion in revenue-sharing funds for tobacco excise (DBHCHT) in 2022 were allocated for direct cash assistance (BLT).

"The number of BLT recipients from the proposed DBHCHT is 5,376 beneficiaries," said Head of the Health Security Protection Division of the Central Lombok Regency Social Service, Sirojudin.

BLT from DBHCHT is planned to be given for six months with the value of the funds distributed to each beneficiary of IDR 300 thousand per month.

The assistance is intended for farmers and tobacco factory workers as well as cigarettes who have not received other social assistance from the government.
