KKP Minister Edhy Arrested, KSP: Ali Mochtar Ngabalin Joined A Travel Group But Was Not Taken To The KPK

JAKARTA - Chief Expert from the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Ade Irfan Pulungan denied that his colleague Ali Mochtar Ngabalin was taken to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) office when Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo was arrested on arrival from Honolulu, Hawaii, United States.

This was conveyed by Irfan in response to a number of issues that said his colleague was brought in by the KPK task force.

"(Ali Mochtar Ngabalin, red) joined the traveling group from America but was not taken to the KPK," said Irfan when contacted by reporters, Wednesday, November 25.

This United Development Party (PPP) politician said that currently Ali was at his residence to rest.

"I just checked, Bang Ali is now resting at his house," he said.

As previously reported, the Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri confirmed that his men managed to arrest the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Edhy Prabowo.

This arrest was carried out by the prosecution team after Edhy and his entourage arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng, Tangerang, to be precise at Terminal 3 of Honolulu, Hawaii, United States.

"Last night KP Minister was secured by the KPK at 3 Soetta Airport when he returned from Honolulu," Firli said in his statement to reporters, Wednesday, November 25.

The former Deputy for Enforcement said that Edhy was arrested because he was suspected of being involved in corruption in the issuance of the export permit for lobster fries or seeds.

"Now he is at the KPK for questioning. Please give the deputy team time to work first," he said.

After carrying out an arrest or hand-arrest operation (OTT), the KPK then has 1x24 hours to determine the legal status of the party who is also brought to the Red and White House.
