5.3 Guncang DIY Magnitude Earthquake

YOGYAKARTA - An earthquake with a magnitude (M) of 5.3 rocked the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) on Thursday at around 14.01 WIB. This is based on information from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) received in Jakarta, Thursday, September 8 BMKG reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was 301 kilometers southwest of Gunung Kidul, DIY. The location of the epicenter of the earthquake was at 10.53 degrees south latitude and 109.65 degrees east longitude. The earthquake included a shallow earthquake with a depth of just 10 kilometers.
