Bandung City Government Asks Residents To Use General Transportation To Press Fuel Fees

JAKARTA - The Bandung City Government invites the public to use public transportation facilities to reduce expenses for buying fuel oil (BBM).

Bandung Mayor Yana Mulyana said the means of transportation ranged from buses such as Trans Metro Bandung, School Buses, Damri Buses, to other public transportation.

"The most important thing right now is how we can all continue to strengthen each other, find solutions together, so that people and all elements in the city of Bandung can continue to rise," said Yana at Bandung City Hall, West Java, Wednesday, September 7, quoted from Antara.

In addition to suppressing spending on fuel, according to him, this can at the same time revive public transportation in the city of Bandung.

Despite the increase in fuel prices, he believes that residents of the city of Bandung who are known as creative communities can take advantage of their creativity to be able to rise quickly.

"The current situation is certainly felt by us not only in the city of Bandung, but in all regions in Indonesia and even the world community. But I believe, we have strong capital, namely creativity, collaboration, and innovation," he said.

Yana pun meminta kepada masyarakat untuk mengawal kebijakan pemerintah pusat soal kenaikan harga BBM tersebut dengan mematuhinya, sehingga ia pun mengajak warga agar tetap menjaga Kota Bandung tetap kondusif.

"Let's continue to try to contain ourselves, maintain security and order, that's why capital is important. When the climate is conducive, I'm optimistic that we can all get out quickly," he said.

In addition, he also hopes that the public can take advantage of the BBM Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) for more productive things. According to him, the BLT BBM will be distributed in September 2022 to around 65 thousand beneficiaries.

"We will certainly monitor and oversee so that the process of distributing BLT fuel can immediately reach the community," said Yana.
