YOGYAKARTA - Direct cash assistance (BLT) of Rp600,000 has been distributed by the government starting September 1, 2022. Social assistance is provided to the community to anticipate the impact of the increase in fuel oil prices. So how long will the distribution of this BBM subsidy BLT take place?

BLT subsidy BBM is one of the social cushion programs distributed by the government. Two other programs, namely Wage Subsidy Assistance and Assistance from Regional Governments. The budget prepared by the government for social cushions is IDR 24.17 trillion.

The budget allocation for BBM subsidies itself is IDR 12.4 trillion. This BLT is distributed to the beneficiary group (KPM) community. The amount received by each recipient is IDR 600,000. This social assistance will be distributed to 20.65 million KPM.

Then how is the process of distributing this fuel subsidy and how long will the disbursement of the funds take place?

Tri Rismaharini, Minister of Social Affairs, said that the distribution of BLT fuel subsidies to KPM was carried out through PT Pos Indonesia. However, for now, only BLT is for 18.48 million recipients who are ready to be distributed. Meanwhile, the rest are still in the data correction process, to check that there are recipients who are already dead.

The distribution of fuel subsidy BLT is carried out through PT Pos Indonesia. Then BLT was given 4 times, with the amount of Rp. 150,000. However, the disbursement is carried out in two stages. The first phase was distributed in September 2022 in the amount of Rp. 300,000, while the rest was given in December 2022.

Faizal R. Djoemadi, President Director of PT Pos Indonesia, said that BLT BBM will be distributed at post offices throughout Indonesia. He conveyed that his party is targeting BLT to be accepted by all KPM in two weeks.

For the sake of smooth distribution of BLT BBM, Faizal said his party would increase cooperation with outsiders, such as the community, local government, the Social Service, police and TNI officers, as well as students. His party will recruit students and the community as distributors of BLT to their recipients.
