Moeldoko Asks Gusdurian Polytechnics To Realize Gus Dur's Values

JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff Dr. Moeldoko attended the inauguration and inauguration of the Gusdurian Purwokerto Polytechnic, Central Java, Friday, September 2. On that occasion, Moeldoko expressed his hope that Gusdurian Politkenik would be able to realize the values of Kyai Haji Abdurrahman Wahid or who is usually called Gus Dur.

Moeldoko said that Gus Dur was a national figure who was very consistent in defending the weak, poor and marginalized communities. Gus Dur is also at the forefront of fighting for the spirit of tolerance and maintaining Indonesia's diversity.

"Gus Dur's thoughts and values must be overcome (run) in the management of the Gusdurian Polytechnic," said Moeldoko.

Moeldoko, nicknamed the Unitary Officer of the Republic of Indonesia, is also optimistic that the Gusdurian Polytechnic can produce Indonesian human resources who have strong characters, so that they are able to compete in the midst of an increasingly competitive global situation.

This strong character, he continued, must be based on Gus Dur's nine main values, namely monotheism, humanity, justice, equality, freedom, simplicity, brotherhood, chivalrousism, and traditional wisdom.

The nine main values of Gus Dur's thoughts are in line with the Vision of superior human resources in 2045 launched by President Jokowi. For this reason, Poltek Gusdurian must be able to bring optimism to Advanced Indonesia," concluded Moeldoko.
