DKI DPRD Holds The Plenary Meeting For The Dismissal Of Anies Baswedan And Riza Patria September 13

JAKARTA - Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Prasetyo Edi Marsudi said that his party decided to hold a plenary meeting to announce the dismissal of the Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta on Tuesday, September 13.

This was agreed in a meeting of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Deliberative Body (Bamus) with the Regional Secretary (Sekda) DKI Jakarta, Marullah Matali, which was held at the Grand Cempaka Resort, Bogor, West Java, yesterday.

"Based on input from the leadership and members of the Bamus, it has been agreed that the plenary meeting to announce the dismissal of the Governor and Deputy Governor for the 2017-2022 period on September 13," Prasetyo said in his statement, Wednesday, August 31.

The chairman of the Bamus DPRD DKI Jakarta said that the dismissal of Anies Baswedan and Ahmad Riza Patria as regional heads was a mandate of Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government.

This dismissal must be proposed to the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) regarding the head and deputy regional head whose term of office ends in 2022.

Based on the provisions of Article 79 paragraph (1) of the Regional Government Law, it is stated that the dismissal of regional heads or deputy regional heads as referred to in Article 78 paragraph (1) letter a and letter b and paragraph (2) letter a and letter b was announced by the DPRD leadership in the plenary meeting.

The dismissal was also proposed by the leadership of the DPRD to the President through ministers for governors and/or deputy governors as well as to the minister through the governor as deputy central government.

"Then in a circular containing the mandate, it was written that we were given time, no later than the plenary announcement of the dismissal was carried out 30 days before the term of office of the regional head ended. That's why we determine now," he said.

Di lokasi yang sama, Sekretaris Daerah (Sekda) DKI Jakarta Marullah Matali mengatakan siap mengikuti mekanisme yang telah ditetapkan. Ia pun menyampaikan bahwa Penjabat (Pj) yang akan mengisi kekosongan Gubernur dan Wakil Gubernur akan dipilih oleh Presiden.

"So, we just follow the mechanism implemented by the DPRD, because it is the one with the letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the leadership of the DPRD. The Pj will be elected by the President," he said.
