JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has been asked to proactively investigate the alleged sale and purchase of positions in the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov). The investigation is considered not to need to wait for a report from other parties.

"KPK can immediately investigate (allegedly buying and selling positions in DKI Jakarta, ed) without having to make a report from the public," MAKI Coordinator Boyamin Saiman told VOI, Tuesday, August 30.

The KPK, continued Boyamin, must remember its obligation to investigate all alleged corruption allegations that allegedly occurred. Including, related to the sale and purchase of positions in DKI Jakarta which was initially conveyed by the chairman of the PDIP faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Gembong Warsono.

Boyamin reminded the anti-corruption commission not to wait. They have to move to investigate.

"KPK's obligation to investigate all allegations of corruption. You can't wait (to investigate, ed)," he said.

Gembong Warsono admitted to hearing various information related to presumptuous practices that occurred during the leadership of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan. This news is getting more and more widely ahead of the end of the term of office of the former Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud).

"At the end of the governor's term of office, I heard many of our ASN problems in buying and selling placements. How many individuals have I found," Gembong told reporters, Wednesday, August 24.

Gembong said that the practice of buying and selling occurred in various positions from the village head, section heads of regional work units (SKPD) to sub-district heads.

He gave an example for the position of sub-sexy head to become a sexy head in echelon which is priced at Rp. 60 million. Then, the position of the village head costs up to Rp. 100 million while the sub-district position is set at Rp. 200 million to Rp. 250 million.

Regarding this allegation, the KPK invites those who know to report. They can only move when there is a report.

"Please for people who know there are allegations of corruption in the vicinity, report it to law enforcement," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri when contacted by VOI, Thursday, August 25.

Ali said the KPK could not move carelessly, especially based on assumptions and perceptions. There must be initial evidence before conducting an investigation.

"KPK as law enforcers is certainly not based on assumptions and perceptions, especially for example just opinions," he said.

"However, it must be confirmed because of the discovery of evidence, the process of obtaining it must also be in accordance with the provisions," continued Ali.
