Update On COVID-19 As Of November 22: New 4,360 Cases, DKI Jakarta Contributes 1,342 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. The total cumulative cases totaled 497,668 people since the first cases were announced on March 2. Meanwhile, new positive cases per day reached 4,360 people.

Cases recovered today increased by 4,233 people, so that a total of 418,188 people recovered. Meanwhile, 110 confirmed positive cases died and a total of 15,884 people died.

The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 1,342 new cases and a total of 12,7164 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Furthermore, Central Java has 477 new cases with a total of 47,380 cases. West Java 372 new cases with a total of 48,064 cases. East Java 295 new cases with a total of 58,679 cases. Then, West Sumatra has 229 new cases and a total of 18,593 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,075 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 639 cases of recovery, Central Java with 623 cases, West Sumatra with 359 cases, East Java with 301 cases, and South Sulawesi with 173 cases.

It was also reported that 7 provinces reported the addition of new cases under 10 today. The provinces are Bangka Belitung, West Nusa Tenggara, Gorontalo, West Selawesi, Maluku, North Maluku and Papua.

"The highest number of deaths was in East Java Province with 24 people. Then Central Java with 20 people and DKI Jakarta with 16 people," he was quoted as saying from data from the Ministry of Health, Sunday, November 22.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 5,340,537. In detail, a total of 5,245,303 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 95,234 using a molecular rapid test (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.0 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 64,502 people. Currently, 505 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
