KAIMANA - The Acting Governor of West Papua, Paulus Waterpauw, stated that he would stay and have a temporary office in every district/city in West Papua, to ensure that the wheels of government run well and are closer to the people. "We will arrange in the future the provincial government plans to stay in regencies and cities to hold a government together with the district/city government," said Paulus in Kaimana, Antara, Sunday, August 28. The original son of Kaimana Kampung Lakahia/Boia, Teluk Etna District said that as the acting governor, he has the duty to organize a government during the transition period in West Papua Province while preparing everything needed in the presidential, legislative election process to the election of governors and deputy governors. To ensure the readiness of all regions to welcome the 2024 political year, Paulus and the ranks of regional apparatus organizations (OPD) within the West Papua Provincial Government will continue to tour 13 regencies/cities. "We will not only stay in the provinces, later we will go to regions to carry out various activities. We want to see and hear firsthand all things related to the interests and expectations of the community," said the former Papuan and West Papuan Police Chief. After visiting Kaimana, on Sunday afternoon Paulus Waterpaw accompanied by a number of West Papua Provincial Government officials continued their visit to Fakfak Regency. The West Papua Provincial Government will allocate a budget of around Rp. 60 billion for the construction of the road to Siboru Airport. The work on Siboru Airport itself is handled by the Ministry of Transportation through the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and is one of the national strategic projects.
