PAN's Explanation On Puan's Name Entering The Presidential Decree 2024: Potential Characters

JAKARTA - Unexpectedly, the name of the PDIP DPP Chair, Puan Maharani, was included in one of the names of the nine presidential candidates proposed at the PAN national working meeting (rakernas) yesterday.

When Puan's name was read out on the list of nine readings, there were cheers from the ranks of PAN cadres who were present. They shouted, "Huuuu". This had made PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan silent for a while before continuing to read other names.

The inclusion of Puan's name as a presidential reading because it was proposed by the DKI Jakarta PAN DPW. Deputy Chairperson of PAN Yandri Susanto explained that Puan is indeed a political figure who has the potential to be promoted as a presidential candidate.

"Mbak Puan is indeed one of the potential figures to be promoted by the 2024 presidential candidate," said Yandri after the PAN National Working Meeting at Istora Senayan, South Jakarta, Saturday, August 28 night.

Yandri claims that his party has no obstacles in communicating with any party or political figures at this time. Thus, all proposals from the DPW regarding the name of the presidential reading will be accommodated.

"Once again, I emphasize, all political parties in parliament or non-parliament, PAN does not have any obstacles to communicating, including with Mbak Puan," explained Yandri.

Meanwhile, PAN General Chair Zulkifli Hasan said that the name of the PDIP DPP Chairperson Puan Maharani was a new proposal. Even so, Puan's name will still be discussed further. Likewise, the names of other presidential candidates that appear in the PAN National Working Meeting.

"So it has not been decided by the National Working Meeting. This is a new National Working Meeting receiving a proposal from the regional area that participated in the National Working Meeting this time," said Zulhas.

Meanwhile, when asked about the cheers to Puan, she asked her cadres to respect all parties. Moreover, the name he mentioned is still not final.

"This is still a proposal from the province, of course, when it comes to meeting, we will discuss what is best for the nation, for all of us, in due course," said Zulhas.

Overall, there are nine names of candidates who will be announced at the PAN National Working Meeting. They are Zulhas announcing himself; General Chairperson of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto; PPP chairman Suharso Monoarfa; and Puan Maharani.

Then there is also the name of the Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir. Then there is the name of the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo, the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan, the Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil, the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa.
