BANDA ACEH - The Banda Aceh Police handed over evidence of the proceeds of crime in the form of five motorbikes to the original owner after being secured from the theft perpetrators from North Sumatra.

"We have directly handed over five units of motorcycles that we managed to secure to their owners," said the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Banda Aceh Police, Kompol M Ryan Citra Yudha, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 24.

Previously, the Rimueng Satreskrim Team of the Banda Aceh Police arrested two cross-provincial theft specialists from North Sumatra whose stolen goods were sold outside Aceh.

Of the two perpetrators, Arif Prans (35) Susanto (29), five of the seven motorbikes they stole, while two more units have been sold to North Sumatra.

Ryan said that the victim really needed the vehicle to go to work, and students who needed the vehicle to go to college.

"So based on this consideration, we will hand it over to the owner with the status of borrowing and using evidence," he said.

Ryan said, regarding the two other motorbikes that had been sold to North Sumatra, his party continued to coordinate with the police in Medan to uncover the motorcycle dealers sold by the perpetrators.

"For now, the perpetrators are still being held in the Banda Aceh Mapolresta cell. The two suspects are charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code paragraph 1 and are threatened with seven years in prison," he said.

The police appealed to residents in Banda Aceh to be careful parking motorbikes or placing valuables to avoid unwanted things.

"Be careful parking the motorbike and placing valuables, then check before leaving the location," said Commissioner Ryan.

Meanwhile, one of the victims who lost his motorbike, Fahzial, was very grateful and thanked the police for revealing this case so that his motorbike was found again.
