JAKARTA - Attorney General ST Burhanuddin asserted that his institution is serious in investigating the alleged corruption case in controlling 37,095 hectares of oil palm land with the alleged founder of PT. Duta Palma Group Surya Darmadi (SD).

"In calculating state losses, the Prosecutor's Office does not carelessly because the sources are state auditors, namely the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) and the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK)," said Burhanuddin at a press conference at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, August 23. .

He said his institution would act decisively in the case of alleged corruption in the control of the 37,095 hectares of oil palm land. Therefore, according to him, if in its development other sufficient evidence is found, the Prosecutor's Office will not hesitate to appoint new suspects in the case.

"If there is other evidence, I 'brush' it," he asserted.

In the Hearing Meeting (RDP) of Commission III of the DPR RI, the Attorney General explained the development of the alleged corruption case that ensnared the founder of PT. Palma Group Ambassador Surya Darmadi who is suspected of causing state losses of IDR 78 trillion.

According to him, the modus operandi carried out was the encroachment of 37,095 hectares of protected forest in Indragiri Hulu Regency, Riau Province, together with Raja Thamsir Rachman as Indragiri Hulu Regent for the 1999-2008 period.

"Issuing the permit is against the law because it does not form an integrated team," he said.

The Attorney General explained that the state losses of around Rp. 78 trillion were detailed, the production value of palm fruit was Rp. 9 trillion, the loss of forest areas against the law and non-payment of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) of Rp. 421 billion, and the loss of environmental damage because the forest was turned into a forest area. palm oil Rp69.1 trillion.

He said the number of alleged state financial and economic losses in the case, based on calculations by BPKP and other experts, was likely to be higher.
