PALEMBANG - Head of the Palembang City Education Office (Disdik), Ahmad Zulinto, said 10 students who had been confirmed positive for COVID-19 have now been declared cured.

Ahmad Zulinto said the students had recovered a few days ago after undergoing self-isolation and receiving medical assistance from health workers.

"Our children have been healthy (from COVID-19) a few days ago, of which I have directly checked and currently they are actively attending school," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 22.

According to him, based on data from the Health Office, the positive case of COVID-19 was confirmed in the fourth week of July 2022.

In which, the 10 students consisting of 4 high school students, 4 junior high school students and 2 elementary school students were confirmed positive for COVID-19 through sample examination in a health laboratory.

"We appreciate the quick response of all parties handling this case, both the City Health Office, Schools and of course parents/guardians of students," he said.

Ahmad Zulinto ensured that all education units in Palembang were committed to optimally preventing the transmission of COVID-19 in schools that currently have full face-to-face learning.

In these prevention efforts, he said, the Palembang City Education Office had formed a COVID-19 Task Force in every school that was obliged to monitor compliance with health protocols such as masks, and sanitizing hand washing equipment with anti-bacterial liquid.

"There is no more spread, but of course we are not yet at a completely safe point, so, COVID-19 vaccination is still being intensified in the category of children 6-11 years and adolescents, please support from the parents," continued the Head of Education and Culture.
