BADUNG - The Bali Regional Police deployed 2,514 personnel to secure six activities of the G20 international meeting which took place from 22 August to 4 September 2022 in Nusa Dua, Badung, Bali.

"We have 40 G20 events held in Bali and currently there are 25 events that have taken place. This time the number is quite large and the timing is also close, namely there are six in number from August 22 to September 4, 2022," said Bali Police Chief Inspector General Putu Jayan Danu Putra during the Operation Gapura Agung VIII in order to secure the G20 Presidency Sherpa Track Side Event Event at Lagoon Field, Nusa Dua, Badung, Bali, Monday, August 22.

According to the Bali Police Chief, there are five ministries that will organize activities related to Indonesia's chairmanship in the G20.

"There may be around 1,600 guest delegates. This is a shared responsibility to secure the implementation that is included in the sherpa track of the five existing ministries," said Inspector General Putu Jayan after reviewing troop preparations in Bandung, Bali.

The Kapolda conveyed that the security pattern used for 14 days refers to the security pattern that has been carried out at previous events involving members of the Police, TNI as well as from the Bali Regional State Intelligence Agency (Binda) and other elements.

"Of course this time it will be even better than the previous security pattern. With the zone system pattern, the ring system, then also dividing starting from the arrival of the delegation until later the delegation returns (to its place of origin) and security on the travel route, at the inn and place of origin. activities, including if there is a field trip," he said.

He added that there were eleven task forces involved in securing the track sherpas of the G20 leadership, ranging from the intelligence task force, the regional task force to the regional security task force that secures field trips and entrance areas to the Bali region.

"So, we are not only monitoring the places of activity, but also the entrances to Bali that are also included in our supervision to anticipate things that are not desirable and maintain conduciveness in the Bali area," said the Kapolda.

Inspector General Putu Jayan asked for help from all elements of Balinese society to help maintain security and order during the G20 international events until their climax in November.

Overall, the six side events that will be secured by the Bali Police include the Ministerial Conference on Women's Empowerment, Supreme Audit Institution Summits (SAI20), Digital Economy Minister's Meeting, Environment and Climate Ministerial Meeting, The Education Minister's Meeting, The Education Minister's Meeting, and The Energy Transitions Ministerial Meeting.
