DENPASAR - Two victims of a stove explosion during mass cremation (cremation) in the Selat Adat Village, Blega Village, Gianyar, will be operated on at Prof Ngoerah Hospital, Bali, on Tuesday (23/8), after their condition is now stable.

"The two patients are planning to undergo surgery to remove dead tissue, we will do it tomorrow morning, the patients are 11 years old and 32 years old," said the Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Medical staff at the Prof Ngoerah Hospital Dr dr Agus Roy Rusly Hariantana in Denpasar, Monday, August 22. .

The two patients who will be operated on first are IGNP (11) and Ketut Adi Wiranata (32). Roy said that this operation aims to remove dead tissue and take new skin to prevent infection, and currently the condition of both patients has stabilized.

"Today we are optimizing the patient's condition, we will see if the blood is normal or not. If the blood drops, we will prepare it with a blood transfusion," said Roy.

Roy explained that the two victims of the stove explosion, which will be operated on tomorrow morning, have now regained consciousness and can receive food and drink. When they arrived, both had burns under 70 percent.

"This 11-year-old patient has 38 percent burns, including a fairly high percentage for children. Currently, his condition is stable, but he has a slight fever. Then, as an adult, 54 percent of burns are on behalf of Ketut Adi Wiranata, his condition is quite stable. because there is no tightness and heat," he said.

In addition, there are two other patients named Gusti Made Budiarta (49) and Kadek Dwi (30), whose surgery is planned on Wednesday (24/8) to adjust to their condition first.

Currently, Prof Ngoerah Hospital is still treating four patients who were victims of the mass cremation stove explosion in Gianyar. From a total of nine victims, as many as six people with the most severe burns were treated at this hospital, but two patients with burns reached 98 percent and 94 percent had died.

The two patients named Bagus Oskar (33) and IKGP (14). Dr Roy said that the cause of death from this burn case was in the early stages of the incident such as lack of fluids, respiratory problems, and hypothermia.

"Where these two cases are more than 90 percent with respiratory injuries, the chances of survival are small. So, we have tried to optimally take action for both patients," he said.

The stove explosion incident occurred on Friday (19/8) night during a mass cremation ceremony, the explosion immediately took place during the process of burning corpses on the side of the lion's adventure when the community was crowding.
