JAKARTA - The results of the Research & Consulting Algorithm survey show that 92.6 percent of respondents are optimistic that Indonesia will be able to rise after the COVID-19 pandemic
"There is new optimism that we can rise up better," said Director of Research and Programs Fajar Nursahid as quoted by Antara, Sunday, August 21.
Of the number of respondents who expressed optimism that Indonesia would rise post-pandemic, 28.7 percent believed that the human resource (HR) factor would support this revival; while 24.3 percent of them believe in the factor of natural resources (SDA) that will support the rise of Indonesia.
"In addition to the existence of social capital, such as tolerance, Pancasila, and diversity, this is a part that helps shape this optimism," he added.
Meanwhile, 5.8 percent of respondents said they were not sure that Indonesia could rise after the COVID-19 pandemic and 1.6 percent of respondents said they did not know.
Thus, the survey findings are good news and confirmation that the majority of the public believes that Indonesia can get out of the pandemic.
The algorithm also assesses the condition of democracy in Indonesia. In the survey, the Algorithm got an answer that several important issues received relatively good perceptions from respondents, such as the opposition space in parliament, the right to express opinions and associate in society, law enforcement, corruption, and collusion.
"Even though it's good, the things that become homework now are corruption, law enforcement, and eradicating collusion," he said.

The algorithm conducted a survey involving 1,206 respondents representing the adult population nationally.
Fajar explained that the margin of error is in the range of 3 percent and a confidence level of 95 percent.
The data collection was carried out by the Algorithm from July 23 to August 5, 2022, through telephone interviews conducted by 40 enumerators. Fajar said that one of the limitations of the survey was the availability of serial data as a comparison because the survey was the first survey for the Algorithm.
