SOLO - The Mayor of Surakarta, Central Java, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, is currently in self-isolation. Gibran has contracted COVID-19 for the third time.

The Deputy Mayor of Surakarta, Teguh Prakosa, in Solo, Friday explained that Gibran was last able to lead the ceremony for the 77th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia at Sriwedari Square, Wednesday, August 17 yesterday.

"In the afternoon he swab (swab test), the result was positive for COVID-19," said Teguh Prakosa quoted from Antara.

Not just Gabriel. A number of family members of the number one person in Solo also tested positive for COVID-19.

"It was his assistant who was affected, eventually it was passed to one family. There was Mrs. Selvi (Selvi Ananda), the guardian, Mas Ethes. Currently he and his family are in self-isolation, I think at home. It's in the same house," he said.

However, he said, Gibran and all his family members are currently in good condition and without symptoms. Furthermore, after carrying out self-isolation for five days, a swab test will be carried out again.

"If the result is (negative) it's only a matter of two days of rest, on the seventh day you can start your activities again," he said.

Meanwhile, he estimates that Gibran will contract COVID-19 again because he is tired of activities, given the hectic agenda under the Surakarta City Government.

"The conditions of the work are so heavy, it means that the work does not stop in Surakarta. He is very concerned that all of them must be visited, maybe he is tired," said Teguh Prakosa
