Jokowi Said, International Trust In Indonesia Has Increased Sharply

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo stated that international trust in Indonesia has increased quite sharply. This is one of the strengths to build Indonesia.

This was conveyed by Jokowi in the state speech of the 77th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at the Indonesian Parliament building, Senayan, Central Jakarta.

"The fourth strength is international trust which has risen sharply," said Jokowi, Tuesday, August 16.

Jokowi gave an example of the form of trust he meant. For example, Indonesia was accepted by Russia and Ukraine as a bridge for peace. Although, at that time geopolitics in both countries was hot.

Then, Indonesia was also trusted by the United Nations as a Champions from the Global Crisis Response Group for handling global crises. In 2022, Indonesia will become President of the G20, the organization of the 20 largest economies in the world. Next year, become the Chair of ASEAN.

"This means that we are at the top of global leadership and have a great opportunity to build international cooperation," he said.

Furthermore, Jokowi said that the great trust of the international community can also be felt at home. Currently, Jokowi stated that the government continues to carry out structural reforms for competitiveness and business climate.

Then, the government also improves the investment ecosystem and the growth of MSMEs. As a result, Downstream and domestic manufacturing continues to grow rapidly. Investment growth also increased sharply, of which 52 percent were outside Java.

"This means that our economy will not only grow rapidly, but will also grow evenly, towards an Indonesia-centric development," said Jokowi.

On that occasion, Jokowi also mentioned other strengths that Indonesia has to carry out development. Among them are the ability to face and cope with the COVID-19 pandemic, abundant natural resources, to the demographic bonus.
