6 Dead In Cianjur Accident, Kernet's Witness Says Fuso Truck Had Stopped Due To Problems In Engine, Tires And Brakes

CIANJUR - Dirlantas Polda Jabar found the cause of the accident due to excess load of wheat flour from a truck that caused six people to die on Jalan Raya Cianjur-Sukabumi precisely in Bangshadow Village, Gekbrong District, Cianjur.

"The results of the initial investigation revealed that the fuso truck with police number F 9125 WA carrying thousands of flour sacks exceeded its proper capacity. The results of the witness testimony stated that the truck had stopped several times because it was forced to operate," said Director of Traffic for the West Java Police, Kombes Romin Thaib in Cianjur, quoted from Antara, Monday, August 14th.

Information from the truck driver who survived said that the truck had stopped because of various problems ranging from the engine, tires to brakes that did not work. So the driver forced himself to continue the journey to Cianjur from Sukabumi.

When an investigation was carried out at the scene, he said, no traces of braking were found from the truck. When the ram check was carried out, the gear position was in a neutral position and the tires were no longer fit for use.

"It's clear since leaving the garage the truck was forced to operate, until finally when the road descended sharply with a load that exceeded its capacity, the truck lost control and hit a number of vehicles with the loss of six people," he said.

As reported, six people died in a truck accident laden with wheat flour that allegedly failed the brakes on Jalan Raya Cianjur-Sukabumi, Sunday, August 14. The victims who died included the truck driver who had received medical assistance at the Cianjur Hospital.

While the other five people consisted of 3 motorcycle riders, an ankle truck driver and a pedestrian who was hit by a truck before stopping after hitting trees and houses of residents in Cipadang Village, Bangbayan Village.
