Annual Session, MPR Will Report Formation Of Adhoc Committee Related To PPHN To President

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo will attend the MPR Annual Session and the Joint Session of the DPR and DPD, Tuesday, August 16.

In the event, the MPR leadership will report on the formation of an Adhoc committee to discuss the State Policy Principles (PPHN) for the 2019-2024 period. This Adhoc Committee involves the leadership of the MPR, representatives of the MPR faction, and the DPD group.

"It is urgent that we report developments related to the PPHN where we report that the joint meeting was approved and we agreed to form an Adhoc committee," said MPR Chairman Bambang Soesatyo at a press conference at the Nusantara IV building, Monday, August 15.

Bamsoet said that the Adhoc committee will be decided and determined in the Plenary Session of the MPR RI in early September. Because, according to him, it is not possible to determine it at the annual session on August 16 tomorrow.

"The decision was made in early September, the MPR had a plenary meeting to decide on the Adhoc committee and gave the Adhoc task to formulate the substance of the PPHN and look for the legal basis to be decided at the next plenary meeting," he explained.

The deputy head of the Golkar Party revealed that there would be two choices regarding the presence of the PPHN. First, PPHN with TAP MPR under the Constitution (UUD) but above the Law (UU).

"It has to go through an amendment, we agree that the amendment cannot be carried out because the political situation is close to the political year. We avoid new pro-contra noises about the amendment," said Bamsoet.

Second, through the Act (UU). Bamsoet said, there is a thought that if the PPHN is presented through a law, it is feared that the PPHN will not be found for the next presidential period.

"Meanwhile, we want there to be a binder for the next presidential period. So the MPR review body finds a way that refers to the urgency of the state administration and MD3 Article 100 Paragraph 2, that the MPR can issue binding decisions in and out through constitutional conventions," said the former chairman of the DPR.
