14 Houses Damaged Due To Strong Winds Hit Central Bangka, Losses Estimated At Hundreds Of Millions Rupiah

BABEL - Head of BPBD Bateng Yudhi Sabara said BPBD had recorded as many as 14 houses damaged by strong winds that hit Central Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province (Babel) on Saturday, August 13.

The data collected by his party on Sunday, August 14, stated that dozens of houses were damaged in Lubuk Besar District and seven houses in Koba District.

"The average damage occurred on the roof of the house, the affected residents have been evacuated to a safer place," he said in Koba, Babel, quoted from Antara, Sunday, August 14.

Yudhi said there were no casualties in the incident but the material losses to the 14 damaged houses reached hundreds of millions of rupiah.

Strong winds also hit Central Bangka on May 28, 2022, which damaged as many as 218 people's houses, which were almost scattered in six or all sub-districts.

Some of the damaged houses have been repaired by the government with the assistance of third parties such as PT Timah Tbk and other private companies.
