The Man Who Throws Iron At A Neighbor's House In Cengkareng Experiencing Mental Disorders, Returns For Treatment In Purwokerto

JAKARTA - Cengkareng Police has returned a man with the initials M, who is suspected of having a mental disorder, to his family.

M, was previously handed over to the police station for throwing a piece of iron pipe similar to a spear weapon at the door of a resident's house in the Kapuk area, Cengkareng, West Jakarta.

The Cengkareng Police Chief, Kompol Ardhie Demastyo, confirmed that M had indeed been taken to the police station.

However, when examined, his statement made no sense, so M was returned to his family for a medical examination in Purwokerto, Central Java.

"It is true that there are reports, but it was done by people with mental disorders. We have returned them to their families," he said when contacted by reporters, Friday, August 12.

Cengkareng Police made a statement from the perpetrator's parents.

"We made a statement from his parents, then the perpetrator was brought to Purwokerto for treatment," he said.

The incident was caught on CCTV camera and circulated on social media. The incident happened last Wednesday, August 10.

In the video, a man can be seen leaving the house carrying an object such as a long stick, then walking down the alley.

Arriving, at the end of the alley, the man threw the stick at a resident's house. After doing so, he went back out of the alley.

According to the resident of the house, R (50), this is not the first time M.

"This has happened twice. Several years ago, once my house was empty," R told reporters on Friday, August 12.

"After attacking (spearing) he was chattering, shouting. Bringing the name of my husband's tribe. The main thing was screaming," he added.

R said, M has often disturbed his family since 2019 by insulting his late husband who came from an area outside Java.

"Yes, blaming my late husband. From 2019 it happened until now. This is the peak," he said.

In addition to stabbing his house, said R, M was also said to have thrown stones at his house.

"Before the spear incident, I had also thrown stones until my asbestos roof was hit," he said.

With this incident, R also hopes that M can immediately receive treatment and recover if he really has a mental health disorder.

"Hopefully it will be treated and he will recover quickly," he said.
