Official House Becomes Used Goods Warehouse, Irbanko: Function Changes Including Violations

JAKARTA - The City Assistant Inspectorate (Irbanko) of the Central Jakarta City Government regrets that the sub-district and sub-district official houses (rudin) in Central Jakarta have become warehouses for used goods.

"Changing the function of the Rudin into a warehouse is tantamount to a violation," said Head of the Central Jakarta Irbanko Sub-section, Bernard Simatupang when contacted, Friday, August 12.

Bernard said the rudin should not be used as a warehouse. The allotment of rudin functions must be in accordance with the rules, namely part of the residence of local officials.

"The one who occupies it must also be appropriate. If it is the rudin of the kelurahan, it means that the lurah must occupy it, as well as the sub-district," he said.

Bernard stated that it is not permissible for other employees to occupy the Rudin without the approval of the Mayor of Central Jakarta. For example, the lurah cannot occupy and instead wants to be transferred to the secretary of the lurah (sekel).

"If the sekel wants to occupy it, it's fine, but there must be a decree (SK) for the Mayor of Central Jakarta," he said.
