The Rizieq Community Polemic, Gerindra: Demonstration Of The Job Creation Law Is Also Crowded

JAKARTA - Member of the DPRD from the Gerindra Party faction, Syarif, assessed that the law enforcement carried out by the central government related to the crowd of events organized by FPI leader Muhammad Rizieq Shihab was too much.

According to him, the dismissal of a number of high-ranking police officers and DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan should not have been carried out. Because the crowd was not the first time this happened.

"Examples of cycling activities are crowding. Demonstration activities against the Job Creation Law are the same, crowd too," Syarif said when contacted, Tuesday, November 17.

Syarif admitted that the violations of the health protocol by Rizieq's followers had indeed been committed repeatedly. It's just that, he believes the same crowd is also happening in many places and not in the spotlight.

"In my opinion, do not place the position of people who ignore protocols. Other places are the same. Only, that is in the spotlight because the third time Habib Rizieq (for the crowd) is like this. In fact, in many places he has done the same thing," said Cecar. Syarif.

As is well known, the crowd that took place at the Prophet's birthday and Rizieq's child marriage on Saturday, November 14, caused protests from many parties. The government is considered to be publicly setting double standards and favoritism for not dissolving these activities.

Until finally, President Joko Widodo held a closed meeting with the line ministries and heads of state high institutions on Monday, November 16. Jokowi's statement after the meeting gave a signal that he was upset with the crowd in Petamburan because of concerns over a spike in COVID-19 cases.

The actions of the National Police Chief, General Idham Aziz, after attending the meeting also strengthened the signal of Jokowi's resentment. The National Police announced that Idham had removed the Head of the Metro Jaya Police, Inspector General Nana Sudjana and the West Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Rudy Sufahriadi.

Not quite there, Polda Metro Jaya also summoned Anies to ask for clarification regarding the crowd from an event held by Rizieq.

Following up on this health protocol violation case, in the near future the investigating team will summon all parties involved in organizing the event, not only Anies Baswedan. Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, said that a number of parties who would be summoned for clarification include government elements and invited guests.
