Chief Justice In China Stabbed Killed After Suggesting Divorce

JAKARTA - A court chairman in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China, was stabbed to death by a man after trial for a divorce case.

Reported by Antara, the local public security bureau in a post on the Sina Weibo account, Monday, November 16, evening, announced the death of court chairman surnamed Hao which occurred after a divorce hearing on Friday, November 13.

However, the bureau whose function is the same as the police has not been able to link the case to the divorce suit filed by the perpetrator, whether it is accepted or not.

However, it is clear that the perpetrator surnamed Wu entered the Zhoujia courtroom on Friday, November 13 with a sharp weapon.

The Shuangcheng Police under the Harbin Public Security Bureau received reports of stabbing Hao shortly after the trial.

Wu was immediately arrested by officers at the scene and confessed to his actions.

The police are currently investigating the case, Chinese media said Tuesday.

The case in the northeastern tip of mainland China is reminiscent of a similar incident that occurred at the Sidoarjo Regency Religious Court, East Java, 15 years ago.

The judge at PA Sidoarjo, Taufiq (52), died covered in blood as a result of the bayonet stab of a Navy officer with the rank of Colonel M Irfan while reading the verdict on his divorce case with his wife, Eka Suhartini, on September 21, 2005.

In that case Eka, who was sitting next to the perpetrator in the trial, was also killed by a sharp weapon by the perpetrator.
