JAKARTA - A pet shop on Jalan Raya Centex, Ciracas, East Jakarta was burglarized. The action was caught on CCTV camera.

The perpetrators managed to break into the safe located under the cashier's desk, and took tens of millions of rupiah and the victim's cellphone. The perpetrator is known to be a local employee.

Rendi, one of the workers at the pet shop, said that from the safe, the perpetrator stole Rp38 million in cash. The perpetrators also took the stolen money using a bag and motorbike.

"It is suspected that the perpetrator was monitoring the situation while he was working. The perpetrator had only been working for three weeks," told reporters, Wednesday, August 10.

When launching the action, the perpetrator took advantage of when three other employees were sleeping on the second floor.

"He (the perpetrator) sleeps here. He is a mess, his name is an employee, the four of us stay upstairs," he said.

The victim then reported to the Ciracas Police for what happened to him. In the police report registered with the number LP/B/25/VIII/2022/SPKT/SEK.CRS/RESJAKTIM/PMJ, it is stated that the theft occurred on Monday, August 8.

The Head of Ciracas Police, Kompol Jupriono, confirmed the incident and that his party had received the report.

Currently, the ranks of the Ciracas Police Criminal Investigation Unit are investigating the case.
