Motorcycle Gang Members Who Persecuted Residents To Death In Majalengka Arrested

MAJALENGKA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Majalengka Police, West Java, arrested four members of a motorcycle gang who tortured residents to death, and from their hands the police confiscated a number of pieces of evidence.

"We have identified four suspects as perpetrators of beatings with emotional motives while driving on the road," said Majalengka Police Chief AKBP Edwin Affandi as reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 8.

Edwin said the four suspects each had the initials MR (20), WK (22), and two people who were 16 years old.

According to him, the suspects are members of the GBR motorcycle gang. Majalengka Police had arrested 15 people in the case of beatings, but after further investigation, four people were identified as suspects.

"We initially secured 15 people who were the GBR motorcycle gang, the results of the investigation were four people were determined as suspects," he said.

Edwin explained that the abuse case that resulted in the victim's death began when residents found a person lying in the middle of the road and was suspected of being the victim of an accident.

However, from the results of the investigation and investigation of the crime scene, the police obtained evidence stating that the person was not a victim of an accident, but was tortured.

"After we investigated, it turned out that the bodies found were victims of torture," he said.

According to him, the chronology of the incident began when the victim collided with one of the suspects in Kuningan Regency, then continued until he arrived at Jalan Cikijing, Majalengka Regency.

"At that location, the victim was tortured to death," he said.

Edwin said that from the hands of the suspects as well as at the TKP, his party confiscated several pieces of evidence, such as vehicles, GBR (Grab on Road) flags, wooden blocks, helmets, CCTV videos and also ceramic shards.

"We apply Article 170 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code, with the threat of imprisonment for a maximum of 12 years in prison," said Edwin.
