Baznas Ternate Visits Fathers Whose Children Were Pruned By Crocodiles In Lake Tolire, Gives Compensation And Food Assistance

TERNATE - The head of the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) of Ternate City, North Maluku (Malut) is supporting the family of the deceased Farjan Idham, a victim of the crocodile attack on Lake Tolire, Ternate City.

Deputy Chairman of the Ternate Baznas, Abdurrahman Munim, explained that the Ternate City Baznas also cares and expresses deep condolences for this tragedy and hopes to receive lessons from this incident.

"Indeed, this is the path that was destined by the creator, but as humans we must make efforts," he said in Ternate, Antara, Monday, August 8.

The arrival of the Baznas entourage was to stay in touch and at the same time convey empathy for the calamity that befell the family.

The presence of the leadership of the Ternate Baznas was welcomed by the deceased's father, Idham Sou and Yani Dingo's mother. Both expressed their gratitude for the attention of various parties, especially the Ternate Baznas who also sympathized with the death of the late Farjan.

On that occasion the Ternate City Baznas handed over a number of aids in the form of cash and basic necessities for the deceased's family. Abdurrahman Munim, Deputy Head of Finance, hopes that this assistance will not be seen from its value, but rather on our concern as fellow human beings.

"Baznas is here to ease the burden on the community, especially those who are affected by disasters. It is our obligation to help each other, give sympathy and empathy," said Abdurrahman.

The deceased's father, Idham, hopes that this incident will provide a lesson for parents to pay more attention to their children when playing outside the house.

Previously, the Ternate Basarnas Search and Rescue Office, together with the Joint SAR Team, were finally able to evacuate the body of a teenager named Farjan Idham (15 years old) who was attacked by a crocodile in Lake Tolire, Ternate City.

The victim was first discovered by local people who were involved in the search operation. The condition of the victim was floating on the edge of the lake and the community then asked for the help of the Joint SAR Team to evacuate to the top of the cliff.

The head of the Ternate Basarnas, Fathur Rahman, admitted that the victim was successfully evacuated from the lake to the mainland at around 13.11 WIT by the Joint SAR Team, then the victim was evacuated using ropes and stretchers to the top of the cliff.

He said, after the victim was successfully evacuated, he was then taken to the funeral home to be handed over to the family.

The process of evacuating victims experienced several obstacles, where the condition of the cliff terrain was very steep and the presence of wild animals, namely crocodiles, made it very risky for the safety of the Joint SAR Team.

Nevertheless, Alhamdulillah, on the third day of the SAR operation, the team managed to find the victim and with the discovery of the victim, the operation was declared complete and closed.
