PEKANBARU - An officer of the Pekanbaru Class IIA Lapas Post on Sunday, August 7 at around 21.50 WIB, foiled the smuggling of two kilograms of marijuana by the perpetrators by throwing them from behind a wall.

"We have reported the discovery of the two-kilogram package which is suspected to be a marijuana type drug to the Pekanbaru Police Narcotics Investigation Unit for further development," said Head of the Riau Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office Mhd Jahari Sitepu to reporters in Pekanbaru, Antara, Monday, August 8.

He said the police would check the CCTV around the area, both belonging to the Pekanbaru prison and local residents, so that they are expected to find the perpetrators who are trying to tarnish the prisons and detention centers in Riau.

Meanwhile, based on information, the postal officer managed to thwart the smuggling of two kilograms of marijuana after he heard the sound of falling goods around his working area.

After checking directly to the source of the sound, the officers found two packages and after checking the officers suspected that the items contained marijuana.

After receiving a report from the officer, the commanding officer immediately rushed to the area and checked the conditions and conditions of the crime scene and re-checked whether any other items had been smuggled in.

After the guard commander confirmed that the item was suspected to be marijuana, the guard commander immediately called Ka. KPLP Pekanbaru to ask for directions and further action.

Ka. KPLP I continued the report to the Head of Pekanbaru Prison, Sapto Winarno and then forwarded it to the Head of the Riau Correctional Division, Mulyadi.
