m JAKARTA - The Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (Indef) through the Indef Datalyst Center released the results of their study entitled Sentiment Analysis on Institutions, Behavior and Government Performance. Through a study whose data collection was carried out from July to November 13, it was noted that there were 7 ministers in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet who received negative sentiments from the public.

"There are 7 ministers who have the most negative sentiments in the public because of their policies, actions, behavior and statements," said senior researcher Indef Didik J Rachbini in a written statement quoted by VOI, Monday, November 16.

He explained, of the seven ministers, the highest number of negative sentiments was obtained by the Minister of Health (Menkes) Terawan Agus Putranto at 74 percent. Next is the Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo at 57 percent, the Minister of Communication and Informatics (Menkominfo) Johnny G Plate at 55 percent, and the Minister of Religion (Menag) Fachrul Razi at 53 percent.

Next, there is also Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo with negative sentiment at 47 percent, Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) Nadiem Makarim at 44 percent, and Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani who also received negative sentiment of 44 percent from the public.

Didik explained that this negative sentiment could occur after collecting 2.18 million data in the form of conversations about the president, vice president, and ministers. This big data system method is one of the methods used by Indef in addition to surveys, secondary data analysis to group discussion forums.

Regarding the emergence of Terawan's name in the highest position, he said, this negative sentiment occurred when Terawan was invited by the World Health Organization (WHO) some time ago because he was considered capable of handling the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. In addition, the empty seat of Mata Najwa, who some time ago teased the former head of the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital, Jakarta, is also one of the causes.

Meanwhile, the sentiment towards the Minister of Agriculture Syahrul occurred because of the necklace against COVID-19 and was considered absent and did not play a role in the national food barn policy.

"Meanwhile, the Minister of Communication and Information received negative sentiment due to the naive issues and claims that the truth belongs only to the government. Another thing is the issue of blocking social media due to the Job Creation Law," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding the negative sentiment towards the Minister of Religion Fachrul Razi, this happened because of a statement regarding the radicalism of good looking some time ago and the issue of lecturer certification.

"Another negative sentiment is towards KKP Minister Edhy Prabowo regarding the lobster seed export policy and policies that are contrary to the previous one," he explained.

"Then the sentiment towards the Minister of Education and Culture emerged because the activating organization program and online schools were considered unsuccessful and the Minister of Finance received negative sentiment due to foreign debt and recession," he added.

In his conclusion, Didi then said, during the first year, the government created more controversy and was considered unproductive. Because, many of the main problems in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic have not been resolved.

"The government for almost a year has created unnecessary controversy, has been unproductive, and has even disrupted its performance so far. It can be seen from the main problems in this country, pandemics that have not been handled, policies that have not worked," said Didi.

In addition, this study also notes that there are seven ministers who are considered the most popular or most discussed. In the first position, Defense Minister (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto is considered the most discussed by the public with 141.5 thousand talks.

Furthermore, the name Minister of Health Terawan reappeared in the ranks of the most talked about ministers with 103 thousand conversations. Followed by Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir with 100.3 thousand conversations, Minister of Religion Fachrul Razi 99.9 thousand conversations, Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian 64.8 thousand conversations, Minister of Education 60.5 thousand conversations, and the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) 58.3 thousand conversations.
