Commission VI Members Ask For Socialization Of The Presidential Regulation On Fuel Distribution: Another Option Using The PKH Card

JAKARTA - The government is currently still working on Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 191 of 2014 concerning the Provision, Distribution and Retail Selling Price of BBM. The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) is also targeting the implementation of restrictions on the purchase of subsidized fuel oil (BBM) of Pertalite and Solar types to be carried out in September.

In response to this, Member of Commission VI DPR RI Rudi Hartono Bangun encouraged President Joko Widodo to issue a revised Presidential Regulation immediately with articles that were full of considerations and looked at the people's situation, as well as taking into account the state's financial condition. Including later when this Perpres is published, Rudi asks for socialization to be massive, considering that later with this regulation, it will divide the rights of the community to get subsidized fuel.

“Pertamina must conduct massive socialization to the regions, because the users of Solar and Pertalite are middle to lower class people. And the procedure for registering the MyPertamina application must also be socialized, how to access it. Maybe there should be socialization to the village level. So when the rules for purchasing with the MyPertamina application were enforced, people in the area did not protest and were not confused," said Rudi in his official statement, Saturday, August 6.

Rudi also emphasized the importance of socializing the Presidential Regulation on BBM because later there will be restrictions on the groups of buyers of Solar and Pertalite. So Pertamina must be really ready to explain to the people below.

He warned that there would not be a commotion and the people would protest and not accept it, because there were differences in the purchase of Solar and Pertalite. Including if the MyPertamina application cannot be accessed by the public, then there must be other options.

“The government can't be rigid, and officials are adamant about prohibiting the purchase of Solar and Pertalite, because this is a matter of livelihood and needs of many people. Another option is, for example, using a PKH card, or a poverty certificate from the village. So in the future, it will not be difficult for people to buy subsidized fuel. The good thing is, with the MyPertamina application, it is recorded in the Pertamina database of people who are entitled to subsidized fuel," he concluded.
