Maluku West Seram Prosecutor's Office Stops 3 Cases Through Restorative Justice, One Of Them Is The Case Of Mother Stealing Money For Children's Schools

The Jampidum of the Indonesian Attorney General's Office approved the termination of the prosecution of three general criminal cases at the West Seram Kejari/ANTARA

MALUKU - Three general criminal cases handled by the West Seram District Prosecutor's Office, Maluku were finally resolved through restorative justice so that they did not proceed to the court level.

"Of the three cases, one of them is the crime of theft by a housewife to meet the needs of her child's education costs at school," said Head of Penkum and Public Relations of the Maluku Attorney General's Office, Wahyudi Kareba in Ambon, Antara, Thursday, August 4.

According to him, the termination of the handling of this case has also obtained the approval of the Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes at the Indonesian Attorney General's Office according to the results of the case title by the Maluku Attorney General's Office and the SBB Attorney's Office.

The first is the case of the alleged crime of theft by the suspect, Mrs. JN who stole the wallet belonging to the victim MR containing IDR 350,000 and a number of jewelry.

"The prosecution of this case was terminated on July 8, 2022 after the victim and perpetrator agreed to make peace and it was stated in a peace deed," explained Wahyudi.

Then the case of embezzlement of salary/benefits for one member of the Deliberative Body of Kairatu Village, SBB Regency where the suspect SR who is also the head of the local BPD made peace with the victim who suffered a loss of Rp. 7,750,000 because he did not receive a salary from May-September 2019.

He said that this case was terminated on June 22, 2022 after mediation and peace efforts were made between the suspect and the victim.

Another case that has been resolved through restorative justice and closed on July 8, 2022 is the mistreatment by three suspects namely HM, MFR, and AB who abused victim FS (17).

The case was closed after the victim and her family agreed to make peace efforts.
