JAKARTA - National Police Chief, General Idham Azis, appealed to all parties to always comply with health protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic to avoid transmission of the virus.

"In the current atmosphere of the COVID-19 pandemic that is hitting Indonesia, I urge all parties to comply with health protocols by always wearing masks, maintaining a safe distance from other people, washing hands with soap and avoiding crowds," said Idham at his official residence, Jakarta. , reported by Antara, Saturday, November 14.

According to him, adhering to health protocols is very important given the massive transmission of the corona virus at this time.

"We must do this together for the sake of our safety and to save one nation and all people in Indonesia," he said.

This is because there has been a large crowd of people who have ignored health protocols in the past week. A number of residents and community organizations also expressed their concern about the mass crowd because it could create a new COVID-19 cluster.

The National Police Chief added that if all components of society, without exception discipline, comply with health protocols, Indonesia can be free from the spread of the corona virus.

"Only by being disciplined in adhering to health protocols will we avoid (transmission) of COVID-19," said the former Head of Criminal Investigation of the National Police.

To date, the corona virus has spread to 215 countries with more than 53 million people infected with this virus and resulted in 1.3 million deaths.

Meanwhile in Indonesia, until November 13, 2020, there were recorded as many as 457,735 people infected and 15,037 people died from contracting the corona virus.
