Inaugurating 1,992 IPDN Graduates, Vice President: Strengthen Faith And Anti-Corruption Attitude

JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin asked that graduates of the Institute of Domestic Administration (IPDN) can strengthen the anti-corruption culture after serving as a State Civil Apparatus (ASN).

"Make a strong character and noble character as a foundation and compass in carrying out duties and dedication to the nation and state. Strengthen faith and piety, as well as anti-corruption attitudes," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin at the Vice Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 2.

The vice president conveyed this when he inaugurated 1,992 young civil service graduates from IPDN Batch XXIX in 2022.

The inauguration was carried out in a hybrid manner with 9 IPDN graduates at the Vice President's Palace, while the other 1,983 were at the IPDN campus field in Jatinangor, Sumedang, West Java.

"Set an example in honesty and professionalism for the community and the environment. Build sensitivity to the social dynamics of society, especially to anticipate the growth of ideas of radicalism, terrorism, and the dangers of drugs or other addictive substances," said the Vice President, as quoted by Antara.

In addition, Vice President Ma'ruf also asked IPDN graduates to make mastery of science and technology-based competencies as capital for readiness to face the times.

"On the other hand, keep the identity and national identity in the midst of the challenges of the era of disruption and progress of civilization," said the Vice President.

Furthermore, Vice President Ma'ruf also asked IPDN graduates to make the mindset, work culture, and "core values" of ASN service oriented, Accountable, Competent, Harmonious, Loyal, Adaptive, and Collaborative or have character and "Proud to Serve the Nation".

"Along with the national bureaucratic reform policy, now the need to expand the framework of thinking is increasingly needed," said the Vice President.

This means that ASN is expected to no longer be oriented to structural positions, but to be increasingly motivated to improve competence and self-quality in filling functional positions that prioritize expertise.

"Armed with toughness, morality, integrity, dedication, and high fighting power, I hope that all of you can come to provide solutions to the nation's various problems. Congratulations on carrying out your duties and mandates," said the Vice President.

In his report, the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, said that the 1,992 young civil servants graduated on Thursday, July 28, 2022, as graduates of applied sciences in government along with 37 doctors and 38 masters in applied government studies. The total number of students for the 2021/2022 academic year at IPDN is 5,826 people.

Present at the inauguration at the Vice Presidential Palace were the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs who was also Plt. Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform Mahfud MD, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Chancellor of IPDN Hadi Prabowo, Head of the Legal and Cooperation Administration Bureau of IPDN Arief M. Edie and other relevant officials.
