Facing The 2024 Election, KPU Socializes In East Kalimantan Regarding Participant Requirements Until Data Updates In PKPU Number 4

KALTIM - The General Elections Commission (KPU) has begun to carry out a number of socialization steps related to the 2024 General Election (Pemilu) in East Kalimantan (Kaltim). The KPU emphasizes the creation of public knowledge from the requirements to updating the data of political parties after the election.

The socialization is related to KPU Regulation (PKPU) Number 4 of 2022 concerning Registration, Verification and Determination of Political Parties for the Election of Members of the DPR and DPRD to political parties and stakeholders.

"The KPU Regulation Number 4 regulates six things, namely the requirements and documents for the requirements of political parties participating in the election, registration, administrative verification, factual verification, determination of political parties participating in the election and continuous updating of political party data (post-election)," said the Chairperson of the East Kalimantan KPU. Rusdiansyah in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Sunday 31 July.

He explained, the requirements are what are the requirements for election participants or political parties as regulated in Law Number 7 of 2017.

"For example, he must be a legal entity, of course the document is a SK Kemenkumham," he said.

Then the political parties must also have a number of management at the provincial level at least eight out of 10 districts/cities in East Kalimantan.

Meanwhile, in each district/city there are also other requirements, namely that they must have a minimum of 50 percent management at the sub-district level.

Rusdiansyah emphasized that the centralized registration of political parties is carried out by the central leadership council (DPP) of political parties, no longer the KPU at the regency/city or provincial level.

"So the documents of the ladies and gentlemen are deposited by the DPP through the political party information system (Sipol)," he said.

He continued, after registration, the next stage was verification by the RI KPU which included the required documents to membership through Sipol information technology.

"After that, it is only the factual verification of the realm at the provincial and district/city levels. Provinces have the authority to make facts, while districts/cities have the authority to verify office management and membership," he said.
