Nowela Indonesian Idol Admits Being Asked By The Central Mamberamo Regent To Fill In The Democratic Party Event

JAKARTA - Indonesian Idol dropout singer Nowela Elisabet Mikelia Auparay or Nowela has finished undergoing examination as a witness at the KPK. He admitted that he knew the Regent of Central Mamberamo Ricky Ham Pagawak because he was asked to attend a Democratic Party event.

"So I happened to be invited to sing. That was all I was asked for," said Nowela to reporters at the Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, Jakarta, Friday, July 29.

Nowela said her introduction to Ricky was only limited to work. Moreover, he has been invited several times, including to fill the Democratic Party event.

"Actually I've been invited several times but some canceled because at that time I had arrived in Jayapura but the weather was bad so I couldn't fly to Central Mamberamo," he explained.

"So I returned to Jakarta and then the last one was. The party event, yes (Democratic Party, ed)" continued Nowela.

The singer did not explain how much money he received. Nowela also admitted that the KPK was not asked to return the money.

"Yes, basically, I sing professionally. So the contract is actually with my manager. It's just a coincidence because my name is singing, so, yes, I was asked for information," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK continues to investigate allegations of bribery and gratification in Central Mamberamo. A number of witnesses have been called and searches have been carried out.

However, in the midst of this investigation, the Regent of Central Mamberamo Ricky Ham Pagawak fled. He fled to Papua New Guinea by way of a rat with the help of his aides.

KPK investigators are still pursuing Ricky. People who know the whereabouts of the Democrat Party politician provide information through the 198 call center or report to other law enforcement officers.
