Woman In Tabanan Bali Dies Falling From Bridge Into River

TABANAN - The SAR team evacuated the body of a woman named Gusti Ayu Puspa (54) a resident of Carang Sari Village, Abiansemal District, Badung Regency, Bali.

The victim fell from a bridge in Cau Belayu Village, Marga District, Tabanan Regency, Bali, on Friday, July 29 at around 12.00 WITA. This incident was reported by local village officials.

Head of the Bali Basarnas Office, Gede Darmada, said that from the information obtained by the Bali Basarnas, the victim initially left the house at around 04.00 WITA.

However, at around 11.30 WITA the victim was found floating in the river which is right under the Cau Belayu Bridge.

"After receiving the report, we rushed to deploy 10 rescue teams with mountaineering equipment," said Darmada.

The SAR team then evacuated the victim. The evacuation process takes about 30 minutes.

"However, because of the prohibition that does not allow carrying the victim's body through certain areas. The joint SAR team finally decided to evacuate the victim with a lifting system," he said.
