Gerindra Has Not Scheduled Prabowo And Rizieq Shihab's Meeting

JAKARTA - The chairman of the Gerindra Party who is currently the Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto has no plans to meet with the Grand Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab.

The chairman of the Gerindra Party, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said that currently Prabowo is carrying out his state duties.

"There is no schedule yet (for the meeting between Prabowo and Rizieq Shihab, red). He is a state task," said Dasco when confirmed by reporters, Wednesday evening, November 12.

Because of this, Prabowo's schedule was so busy that it was difficult to find free time. Moreover, for Prabowo the most important thing at this time is to work and complete the existing tasks.

"Not because you are looking for an image, yes, not exposure," he said.

Previously, after Rizieq Shihab arrived in Indonesia on Tuesday, November 10 yesterday, a number of figures came to his residence in the Petamburan area, Central Jakarta to conduct a gathering. Those who docked were DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, MUI Wasekjen Tengku Zulkarnain, Amien Rais, and a number of elite Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) including its secretary general, Aboe Bakar Al Habsyi.

It is known, when Prabowo ran as a presidential candidate with his running mate, Sandiaga Uno in the 2019 presidential election, in front of his supporters he promised to pick up Rizieq Shihab in Saudi Arabia if elected. He even said that he would pick up Rizieq directly, who was in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

"If elected I will pick up Habib Rizieq," Prabowo said in front of his supporters during the grand campaign in 2019.

In addition, in front of his supporters, he also invited all parties to come to pick him up when Rizieq arrived in Indonesia. "We will both pick up at the airport," he said.

In the contest, Rizieq indeed gave his support to Prabowo. In fact, after Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was declared to have won the 2019 presidential election again, he had asked that this victory be canceled and the KPU determined Prabowo-Sandiaga Uno as the winner.

He conveyed this through a video because he was still in Saudi Arabia at that time and was played during the Itjima Ulama activity in 2019. The reason for Rizieq's request that the Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin victory be canceled is because the 2019 Presidential Election is full of fraud.

"Jokowi must be disqualified no matter what number he gets because he is proven to have cheated. Meanwhile, Prabowo must be declared the winner no matter what number he gets," he said at the time.

"Cheating has occurred, what's the deal with numbers. Prabowo must be declared the winner regardless of the number obtained. Why? Because he is honest," he added.
