Weak In A Wheelchair, Fugitive Money Corruption For 2012 Peparnas Athletes Arrested By The AGO Team

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office for Arresting Fugitives (Tabur) has arrested a convict in a corruption case against a grant from the East Kalimantan Provincial Government for athletes participating in the XIV Riau National Paralympic Week (Peparnas) 2012.

"The identity of the convict Ardiansyah Bin Salimi is on the wanted list (DPO) from the Samarinda District Attorney," said the Head of the Attorney General's Office for Legal Information (Kapuspenkum) Ketut Sumedana as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 27.

Sumedana said the convict was arrested at 16.40 WITA at Perum Bumi Sambutan Asri, Sambutan Village, Samarinda City, East Kalimantan.

Ardiansyah was found guilty based on Supreme Court Decision Number: 6 / PID-TPK / 2020 / PT SMR.

He was legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing a crime as regulated and threatened with violating Article 2 Paragraph (1) jo. Article 18 of Law Number 20 of 2001 jo. Article 55 Paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code in cases of corruption in grant funds from the Provincial Government of East Kalimantan for Fiscal Year 2012 in the procurement of catering services (consumption sector), snack/beverage services, and procurement of lodging rental services and branch facilities/facilities sports (sports) for participants in the training center (TC) Paralympic Contingent Committee (PORPC) in PEPARNAS XIV 2012 activities.

"The convict's actions have resulted in state financial losses of Rp 3.6 billion," said Ketut.

In this case, the panel of judges sentenced him to eight years in prison and a fine of Rp. 200 million, a subsidiary of three months in prison and was burdened with paying compensation as much as the state's loss.

If the convict does not pay within one month after the decision is final and binding, his property can be confiscated and auctioned. If the property is not sufficient, then it is replaced with a prison sentence of two years.

According to Sumedana, the convict Ardiansyah was secured because when he was called to be executed, he did not come to fulfill the summons that had been properly delivered, and therefore the convict was included in the People's Wanted List (DPO).

"The team moved quickly to monitor the convicts and after ascertaining their whereabouts, the team immediately secured them and immediately brought them to the Samarinda District Attorney's Office for execution," said Ketut.

The verdict against the convict was read by the Panel of Judges at the Corruption Court (Tipikor) of the Samarinda District Court chaired by Lucius Sunarno SH MH with judges members Parmatoni SH and Anggraeni SH on Thursday (30/1) 2020.

Ardiansyah Bin Salimi is the Chairperson of the Committee for the Sports Week for Persons with Disabilities (PORPC) in preparation for the contingent for the XIV Riau National Paralympic Week (Peparnas) 2012.
