17 Residents Of Jayapura City, Papua, Are Positive For COVID-19, The Public Is Asked To Be Aware Of The Increase In Corona Cases

JAYAPURA - The Jayapura City Health Office (Dinkes) stated that as many as 17 people were positive for COVID-19. The public is advised to always be vigilant due to an increase in cases.

Head of the Jayapura City Health Office, Dr. Nyoman Antari, said that there was an increase in COVID-19 cases and hoped that the community would tighten health protocols (prokes).

"The residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 are spread across four of the five districts, namely North, South, Abepura and Heram Districts," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 27.

He explained that of the four districts whose residents were positive for COVID-19, the highest South Jayapura District, Hamadi Village, recorded six cases.

"Currently there has been a local transmission or transmission and the Health Office continues to do 'tracing' and some of them are being treated in hospital," he said.

"Many residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 are self-isolating," he continued.

Antari said that 39,551 people have received booster vaccines.

Meanwhile, there were 199,407 people who carried out the first dose of vaccine and 151,065 people who received the second dose of vaccine from the target of 231,863 people, said Nyoman Antari.
