DKI LH Department Admits It Can't Give Trauma Healing To Rape Victims Of Ex-Employees, Here's The Reason

JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency, Asep Kuswanto, admitted that his party had not been able to provide psychological assistance or trauma healing to teenagers who were victims of rape, ex-employees of other individual service providers (PJLP) in their agencies.

Asep said that until now the DKI Provincial Government has not received the name of the victim of the former PJLP's depraved act, Jeni Perhabi (22) from the police.

"So, so far, the police haven't given a name. They're keeping the victim's secret. It just happened last week and we haven't got the victim's name yet," Asep told reporters, Wednesday, July 27.

At this time, Asep said that the LH Service was continuing to coordinate with the police to obtain the name and address of the victim's residence.

After that, Asep will coordinate with the Department of Empowerment, Child Protection and Population Control (DPPAPP) to immediately provide psychological recovery assistance to victims.

"We will coordinate that soon. DKI also has an agency that specifically handles women and child protection. We coordinate with the agency and assist the rape victim," said Asep.

Previously, the Chairman of Commission D of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Ida Maheasy, urged the DKI Provincial Government to immediately provide psychological assistance to the rape victim Jeni Perhabi.

This he conveyed in a working meeting of the Commission D of the DKI Jakarta DPRD which summoned the ranks of the DKI Jakarta Environment Agency and the Thousand Islands Environment Agency to discuss the rape case, yesterday.

"I hope that there is maximum assistance, what should be done. I hope that there will be steps. Because if the victim is the victim, this will have a very long impact. It's very bad and sad. We want to be involved in attending," he said. Ida.

As is known, Jeni Perhabi, the Thousand Islands PJLP and their colleagues who are crew members (ABK) with the initials SS (30) have been named suspects in the case of raping minors.

The two suspects carried out their actions on the 2nd floor of the Makmur Jaya II Ekspress ship docked at Kali Adem Pier, Muara Angke, North Jakarta, Wednesday, July 13.

The rape case began when the 16-year-old victim was at the port in the Penjaringan area. Seeing the whereabouts of the victim, the two perpetrators immediately approached him and invited him to chat.

Persuaded by the words of the two perpetrators, the victim finally complied when he was invited to board the ship so that finally the coercion occurred. After the incident, the victim immediately went home and reported to her parents. The victim's parents immediately reported to the Sunda Kelapa Police.

The two perpetrators were arrested and taken to the Tanjung Priok Port Police Headquarters on July 15 and named suspects on July 16. They were charged with Article 76 paragraph 1 of Law No. 35 of 2014 concerning the protection of children with the threat of 15 years in prison.

Now, the two perpetrators have been arrested. The Thousand Islands LH Sub-Department has also dismissed JP as PJLP in charge of handling waste on the coast of Jakarta Bay as of July 22.
