JAKARTA - Garuda Indonesia apologizes to the Indonesian Hajj pilgrims from South Kalimantan who are members of the Banjarmasin Embarkation Group 1 (BDJ 1). Their return to their homeland was delayed due to technical problems.

This Banjarmasin Embarkation batch 1 was supposed to fly on Sunday, July 24, 2022, after Fajr. However, Garuda Indonesia postponed the flight and rescheduled Monday, July 25 2022, at 12.00 Saudi Arabian Time (WAS).

"Through this opportunity, we also extend our sincere apologies to all passengers for the inconvenience caused," said Garuda Indonesia Director of Service and Commerce Ade R. Susardi as quoted from the official website of the Ministry of Religion, Monday, July 25.

Ade said this condition would be an important note for Garuda Indonesia to continue to optimize efforts to improve the quality of hajj flight services.

Along with schedule adjustments, Garuda Indonesia provides a number of service recovery policies to passengers. The policies include providing accommodation facilities to lodging for all affected passengers or pilgrims.

Ade said this delay was carried out because it prioritized the safety and security aspects of hajj pilgrims' flights on all fronts.

Garuda Indonesia flight number GA8201 type A330-300 delayed its flight due to the discovery of an aircraft component that had to be repaired. At the same time, an assessment of the need for replacement parts for supporting components on aircraft engines is carried out.
