NTT Tourism Praised By President Of Timor Leste, Laiskodat: Synergy Between Local Government And Central Government For Investors

JAKARTA - The President of Timor Leste, Jose Ramos Horta, appreciates the progress of the tourism sector in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) which is growing rapidly. Hearing the praise, the Governor of NTT Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat said that this success could not be separated from the intervention of the central government and regional governments to attract investors.

"We certainly appreciate tourism in NTT which is growing rapidly, which is shown by Labuan Bajo's extraordinary tourism, which has world-class quality," said Jose Ramos Horta, quoting Antara, Saturday, July 23.

He said this during a meeting with the Governor of NTT Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat in Labuan Bajo, Friday, July 22, coinciding with the momentum of Indonesian President Joko Widodo's visit to the area.

Horta said that his party, as a neighboring country to Indonesia, was proud of the progress of tourism in NTT, especially in Labuan Bajo. Labuan Bajo tourism with the leading destination of Komodo National Park is increasingly being managed rapidly with environmental conditions on land and sea getting cleaner, he said.

In addition, tourism services are well maintained so that it increasingly attracts tourist visits.

Responding to this, the Governor of NTT Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat conveyed that the progress of tourism in NTT, especially in Labuan Bajo, was the result of good synergy between the Provincial Government and the Central Government.

"We are working well with the regional government and the central government to support investors who enter and develop NTT tourism," he said.

He thanked President Joko Widodo for the support of tourism development in Labuan Bajo as a super premium tourist area. The development of the tourist area, he said, has a positive impact and has benefits for the region and the community in NTT.
