JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued an early warning for the weather in the mountains and slopes of North Sumatra. Be aware of the potential for heavy rain.

"Be aware of the potential for heavy rain in mountainous areas and slopes on Friday afternoon and evening in North Sumatra," said Field I BBMKG forecaster Budi Prasetyo in Medan, Friday, July 22, quoted from Antara.

In general, the weather during the day in North Sumatra is cloudy and has the potential to rain with light to heavy intensity.

This condition can occur in Nias Islands, North Tapanuli, Humbang Hasundutan, Samosir, Medan, Mandailing Natal, Toba, Padang Lawas, North Padang Lawas, Labusel, Labuhan Batu, North Labuhan Batu, and its surroundings.

At night it is generally cloudy with the potential for light to moderate rain in the areas of Nias, North Tapanuli, Simalungun, Dairi, Central Tapanuli, South Tapanuli, Mandailing Natal, Padang Sidimpuan, Toba, Sibolga, and Samosir

The air temperature is 17.0-33.0 degrees Celsius, humidity is 60-98 percent, the wind blows from the Southeast-Northwest at a speed of 5-30 km/hour.
